It’s a good plan to start with the low-hanging fruit. There are always links that can be obtained relatively quickly and easily. In many cases, results can even be achieved with this, especially in the local search results. For that reason, I start with three simple local link-building tips.
Directories
A ‘directory’ is a platform on which websites within a specific theme are collected. First of all, there are general directories that divide these websites into categories and/or places. A good example of this is Telefoonboek.nl. In addition, there are also directories that are more specific. Often these are aimed at a specific industry or place. For example, there are All Lawyers In the Netherlands especially for lawyers or All Companies in Groningen, especially for Groningen. As you may notice, directories are generally organized by location. There is also a possibility on many directories to add a link to your website. This combination makes directories very suitable for local link building. After all, this will give you relatively easy links that can help you to be more easily found locally.
Home pages
There are start pages for almost every subject. However, the same applies to almost every place name. Whichever place your company is active in, there will certainly be several start pages for that place. Utrecht.uwpagina.nl and utrecht.startpagina.nl are good examples for Utrecht. Links on such pages in a way confirm where your company is active. After all, if you are located in Maastricht, you will not be placed on those Utrecht start pages that quickly. Links on these pages are therefore a signal to Google that your company must be found in Utrecht. And when that signal is strong, it doesn’t just stop with a signal, it will.
Collaborations
As an entrepreneur, you often cannot help your customers with everything that has to do with your field. That is why you may work with other entrepreneurs. And they are probably located nearby too. Such collaborations are of course easy to communicate on a website. Then suggest this. You describe the collaboration and mention your partner on your website, and vice versa. This way you both obtain a relevant local link that could just lead to higher positions in Google. Are you not cooperating with others in this way? Then there are several other examples. Think of suppliers or customers. You can of course make a similar appointment with them.
Local link building thanks to content
Creating content (or having it created) is a very good and 100% natural way to obtain links. If you ensure that that content is actually valuable, others will automatically link to your website such as ‘Link Building Services & Packages: 100% Editorial White-Hat Backlinks’. When creating content you can of course use a regional focus. The advantage of this is that the threshold will be lower. For yourself, because you probably write more easily about things in your area. And for others, because they are more likely to link to content that is specific to their region. You can read about how content can deliver local links in the following tips.
Lists
When creating content you can of course focus specifically on the attention of local websites. For example, if you have a campsite in Zeeland, you could write a blog with the X coziest beach clubs or the X best activities in the area. If this blog is discovered by those beach bars or the providers of those activities, there is a chance that they will refer to it themselves. Of course, this can also apply to other locally oriented or tourism-oriented websites. Without having to search for links yourself, you can thus obtain very relevant local links.
Blogs
In most places, there is a blog that is specifically aimed at that place. This can be done, for example, by leaving comments or by providing a guest blog. In many cases, those two ways offer the possibility to place a link. This will give you a relevant, local link. Make sure to find out if there are such blogs in your location. You then register yourself or approach the editors to contribute to this.
Media
Are there few or even no local blogs to be found? Then the local or regional media are a good option. For example, there will probably be newspapers or TV channels in your area. In Tilburg Omroep Tilburg and the Tilburgse Koerier are good examples. If you want to use it more widely, you could think of Omroep Brabant and the Brabants Dagblad. In the same way, there are examples for all places. All these media have one thing in common: they also have a website. If you have something interesting to share, then it is probably possible to get a link on those sites. And these local links are generally very powerful too.
